In September 2025, Janigo Supported Maple Grove’s Proposed 2026 Budget And Tax Levy Increase, Calling It Fiscally Responsible And Saying Additional Staffing Was Needed To Maintain City Services. “The Maple Grove City Council approved the 2026 preliminary budget and tax levy on Sept. 15, proposing a 6.35% increase over 2025…The city also took a survey on comparable communities to find where Maple Grove fits among other proposed 2026 budgets. It was noted that the average levy increase was 8.64%, with Maple Grove having the third-smallest increase. Eden Prairie and Shakopee are proposing increases of less than 6% for 2026. Blaine was around 10%, with Brooklyn Park proposing an increase of over 12%. "Once again, I feel we are delivering a fiscally-responsible budget and a max tax levy that's reasonable," Councilmember Kristy Janigo said.
